So many hours playing!
The Good: Ive already spent many an hour playing through all the levels on the game. I find tower defense games a particularly addictive line, and this is no exception. The graphics are gorgeous and I like that I can resize the window however big or small I want. Ive had to pull myself away from the game a time or two already. I can actually update may towers while the game is paused, a handy feature when the bad guys have just broken your defense and you need to reposition.
The Bad: Be sure to read the 20 levels across *14* maps Some of the maps are repeated, just with harder challenges. Not a big deal, but I missed that and was a little bummed when I saw some repetition. Playing Endless Campaign didnt reward me with nearly the amount of experience Id expect. While the last level allows for 120 waves and will reward you with a nice chunk of experience, I played one map in endless mode and got like a 1/5 of the experience as I got in the campaign mode. Drones take a long time to collect a measly $20. The sell button is often located above a tower i want to click on to update and dont have a do you really want to warning, resulting in me selling a few towers before their time.
The Mediocre: I wish the UI would show me what wave Im playing against / coming up along with the enemy stats (hit points, special abilities) so I could plan. Keyboard shortcuts would be really handy for buying, selling or updating towers. I wish each upgrade brought not just increased damage, but a little bit of increased special abilities instead of having to wait for the last upgrade to get the special feature. Commanders aura is supposed to provide increased stats to towers, but I can never tell what that is really doing. Id love to be able to specify a custom game (No flyers, endless waves, starting $$). Damage is specified as a number, which I presume is per hit, but not clear then how fast some things are shooting, like the flamethrower. No options for specifying how towers should attach (near, weak/strong, etc). Interest earned, and factory money isnt a lot and doesnt seem to increase with level difficulty at all.
This is a fun game certainly. Its not perfect (what is?) but I definitely felt it was worth my money for what Ive got out of it.
